Odottemita Off (踊ってみたオフ), or Odo Off, is an Odottemita event in Japan that started in early 2015 at which popular odorite are invited to choreograph a chosen song and perform. It is currently a part of Niconico Chokaigi. The participants are listed on the event's website prior to the event.

Concept[]

Popular Nico Nico Douga odorite unify for an iconic, memorable performance.

Practice sessions are held prior to the event at Nico Nico Douga B2F event space. Applications are required for the collaboration participants.

For early Odottemita Off events everyone was presented with one color t-shirts. 39 was blue, Kamikyoku was yellow and Calc. was green.

History[]

The first event was held on Sunday March 1st 2015 at Arts Chiyoda in Tokyo and was broadcasted live on Nico Nico Douga.

The choreography to "39" was created for this event and uploaded on to Nico Nico Douga in order to encourage people to join and dance together at the event. They also encouraged people to upload videos of themselves dancing to the choreography as well if you could not make it to the event. Over 600 people came to the event and danced together to 39, which was later uploaded on to Nico Nico Douga.

The second event took place in the summer, with some different odorite taking part to create choreography for "Kamikyoku" Nv.

The third event was held on February 27th 2016 with over 700 people dancing to the song "Calc." This event was even more special than the events before since Odottemita Fes started almost right after Odottemita Off ended. Odottemita Fes included dance, sing and DJ performances.

Beginning in 2017 Odo Off was included as a part of Niconico Chokaigi. From 2017-2019 Odo Off was sponsored by JAL (Japan Airlines) and "Butterfly Graffiti," "World Wide Festival," and "1 Femto no Oozora" were songs specifically created for the event in collaboration with JAL. "I meets You!!" in 2020 was also created specifically for Odo Off, but was not sponsored by JAL.

Odo Off 2017 was held on April 30 at Niconico Chokaigi with 1000 people dancing to "Butterfly Graffiti."

Odo Fes 2018 was held on April 29 as part of Niconico Chokaigi. VTuber Kizuna Ai made a special appearance and danced "World Wide Festival" alongside 1500 people.

On April 28, 2019 1600 people danced to "1 Femto no Oozora" for Odo Off 2019.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions the 2020 Niconico Chokaigi was cancelled and an online event called Niconico Net Chokaigi was held instead. The Odo Off portion of the event consisted of two events: first, on April 12 at 19:00 everyone posted their covers of "I meets You!!" at the same time, and second, a collaboration video featuring 400 dancers was posted to Niconico and Youtube.

Similar to 2020, Odo Off 2021 is an online only event consisting of two parts. On April 24 anyone who wishes to participate will upload their covers of this year's choreography of "Kami no Mani Mani." Then on April 29 an official collaboration video featuring 400 people was posted.

In 2022, on April 30 Niconico Chokaigi and Odo Off were able to be held again in person. An online event was held alongside the live event with everyone posting covers of "Kimi ga Te o Nigitte Kureru no Nara" on April 23, and an official collaboration video featuring 340 people posted on April 30.

On April 30, 2023 Niconico Chokaigi and Odo Off were held again at Makuhari Messe in Chiba with an online event alongside the live event where everyone posted covers of "Arien Kurai Yabai kedo Dou Suru?" on April 23 and an official collaboration video featuring 350 people being posted on April 30.
